I have a custom languageservice which issues errors if syntax errors are detected
For this, I use AuthoringSink.AddError(message, path, textspan, severity)
I also tried to use a DocumentTask - same result (see below)
Errors are correctly displayed in the Error-List window. However, when I double-click an entry, it does not jump to the respective source location, but raises an ArgumentException instead. Interestingly, this is only the case for Visual Studio 2017 (2010-2015 work fine), AND if the target file is part of the current project. If I exclude the file from the project, double-clicking an error-list entry will correctly jump to the respective source location.
I checked and double-checked all parameters passed to AddError() - they are all correct. The AddError() method is simple enough, so I wonder if there is a bug in Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.15.0.dll?
Any ideas? Can anyone at least confirm this behavior?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
