I have had my computer for about five years now and my trusted gtx 970 was almost problem free. Yesterday while playing a game my screen went black and my gpu fans started to spool down. I thought to myself, “this is the end”. The computer failed to reboot until I disconnected the GPU from the motherboard cleaned it and plugged it back in. I know it is a problem with the gpu because I tested my computer with my CPUs graphics and it worked just fine. It started working again but it crashes to random colored screens between every 45 minutes to an hour of it running. Any ideas of how to fix this? I read something about baking my gpu but does this even work? If not is my gpu toast?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
